When people think of Halloween, they typically think about haunted houses, pumpkin patches, and lots of candy, but one family in Owasso is adding another attraction to that list.

For several months, the Salmon family planned, created and enjoyed setting up thousands of lights in their yard. They say while it was hard work, it was all for the community to enjoy.

"Probably about two months to set this one up from start to finish," said Teddy Salmon.

During the day, it may have looked like Christmas came early at a couple of houses in an Owasso neighborhood, but when the sun went down, it was a show others might not have expected.

"First Halloween show, second year for Christmas," Salmon said.

Salmon and his family installed, set up, and programmed each light in their yard. For the 2024 holiday season, he gained a little more room for his show: his son's yard, which just so happens to be next door.

"This is the first year we got to actually add his to the show and it's made a huge difference," Salmon said.

He and his son Trey had all sorts of displays from trees to pumpkins, to bats and more all over their houses and front yards.

Trey said it's a display he hopes to turn into a tradition, one that hopefully involves more of his neighbors in the future.

"Nobody is really super interested but maybe one day, but we are definitely going to be adding more and doing more next year and hopefully doing more every year," Trey said.

As people came and went, taking in each pixel, the Salmon's hope it helped to kick off the holiday season.

"I just hope they get enjoyment. I mean it's the holiday season, and it's all about being happy, and I just hope they can be happy," said Salmon.

You can come catch the show every night from dusk until 11 p.m. during the Halloween season.

Visitors can also scan a QR code in the yard to select a song they'd like to see. The lights are programmed to dance to the lyrics.

The house is located at 10002 North 108th East Avenue in Owasso.
