After a series of vandalism crimes in Skiatook, police are asking for the public's help.
Police say the crimes have all occurred south of Highway 20 between Osage and Lombard streets.
"There was paint everywhere, they had taken a whole new bucket of paint, used a broom and spread it all over the floors," said Lisa Roberts.
Roberts is helping her brother-in-law renovate an old rental home to sell on West Oak Street in Skiatook. They planned to fix it up themselves and were in the process when the vandals struck.
The home has paint covering every inch of the kitchen and living room. There's paint coating the new floors, the wood-stained cabinets, and some of the doors and windows.
"It's horrific and I want to find out who did it, and I want them to be charged to the fullest extent that we can," said Roberts.
The family has been doing most of the work themselves to keep costs down. Now, with the damage, the cleanup could put them way over budget.
"You can see where the paint is discolored from it," said Roberts. "If we have to redo this floor, it's thousands upon thousands [of dollars] if this doesn't come up."
Skiatook Police and Roberts believe this crime may have been committed by teens. You can still see teen-sized Crocs shoe prints from the wet paint all over the floor.
Roberts hopes whoever is responsible is found out by their parents and turns themselves in.
"Do the right thing. Make them come over and help clean. Make them learn a lesson from this," said Roberts.
Skiatook Police are asking anyone with information to contact them. You can remain anonymous: 918-396-2424.
