An investigation is underway after human remains were found near Lake Tenkiller, authorities say.
The Sequoyah County Sheriff's Office said information from a deer hunter led to the recovery of several human bones in a densely wooded area by the lake.
Cherokee Nation marshals, Oklahoma Medical Examiner's and the District 27 DA's Office assisted in the search.
Deputies said the bones were scattered over a 200-yard area and had likely been there for several years.
