The City of Bartlesville has dedicated a new memorial at Veterans Park on Monday, honoring local military veterans and service members.
The memorial includes flags representing all branches of the military, alongside the American and POW flags, symbolizing respect for prisoners of war and those missing in action. Each conflict is commemorated with individual plaques, detailing the involvement of Bartlesville residents who served.
“Bartlesville is a red, white, and blue community. We honor our veterans, service people, and first responders. This is wonderful for the community to have a place to honor those who have given us the freedoms we have today,” stated a spokesperson during the unveiling.
The memorial was made possible by donations from Phillips 66, the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, the local Elk’s Club, and other contributors, who came together to support the project as a tribute to the community’s dedication to honoring its veterans.
