An Owasso woman is frustrated after thieves smashed her car window at a park and stole several of her belongings. Officers say the thieves also targeted many other cars in broad daylight.

A woman said the thieves took her purse, credit cards, and sense of security.

Owasso police are looking for a black SUV after several cars were broken into in the parking lots of Rayola Park and the YMCA.

The fun mood at the pickleball courts quickly changed for Dana Renfro when she found her car window smashed.

"They took every one of my driver's licenses, my credit cards,” she said. “I had to cancel all of my bank accounts, all of my credit cards, so now I'm stuck with no way to get cash, no way to spend any money."

Renfro says she left her purse on the floor of her car, something she doesn't typically do. She says she wasn't far from her car and is surprised the thieves got away with so much, so quickly.

"This was the first time I brought my granddaughter out here, and she really had a good time, but I don't really want to come back," said Renfro.

Owasso police say several others are dealing with the same issue. Deputy Chief Jason Woodruff says crimes like this tend to increase around the holidays.

"As much as we'd love to say that you should be able to leave valuable items in your car and not worry about them getting broken into, it's just the fact of life—no community is spared from this type of crime," he said.

Renfro says she had to pay for a new window and that hope of finding her stolen belongings is fading.

"I am not lucky. I am a hard worker. I've been a single mom for a lot of years. I've worked two jobs to have what I have," she said.

Police say getting the serial numbers on devices could help locate them if they are stolen.

Owasso police are asking anyone with information about the vehicle in the surveillance video to call them. They say more officers will be on duty, patrolling major shopping areas starting on Black Friday.
