2 Dead After Mannford Police Pursuit Ends On Highway 16

Two people are dead after a pursuit involving Mannford Police ended with a tactical vehicle intervention on State Highway 16, according to OHP.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol confirms that two people are dead following a pursuit involving Mannford Police on Monday evening.

According to troopers, the incident began around 6 p.m. when Mannford officers initiated a pursuit with a driver. The reason for the attempted traffic stop remains unclear.

During the chase, Mannford Police requested assistance from OHP.

Troopers were able to bring the vehicle to a stop near State Highway 16 and 312th West Avenue using a tactical vehicle intervention.

“At some point, we initiate a tactical vehicle intervention, and at this point, we have two people deceased from that,” said OHP Lt. Mark Southall.

The names of the two individuals who died have not yet been released. OHP says the investigation is ongoing as troopers work to gather more evidence and determine what led to the chase.
