The Oklahoma Sooners and Oklahoma State Cowboys are both navigating travel challenges as they prepare for key road matchups on Saturday.
Sooners Seek First SEC Win
The Sooners (0-2 SEC) landed in Atlanta and made a 90-minute bus ride to Athens, Georgia, on Friday due to winter weather delays. They’ll face Georgia at Stegman Coliseum as they search for their first SEC victory.
Oklahoma is looking to bounce back after a devastating loss Wednesday in Norman, where they blew an 18-point second-half lead to Texas A&M. Georgia’s 6'11" freshman Asa Newell, who averages over 15 points per game, will be the focal point of OU’s defensive game plan.
Cowboys Look to Build Momentum
Meanwhile, the Cowboys faced significant delays en route to Salt Lake City, leaving Stillwater eight hours later than scheduled due to a plane issue. They are expected to arrive close to midnight, just hours before their 5 p.m. Mountain Time matchup with Utah.
Oklahoma State (1-2 Big 12) aims to carry momentum from a confidence-boosting win over Kansas State into their game against the winless Utes, who have yet to claim a victory in conference play this season.
Both games are set for Saturday, with the Sooners tipping off at 5 p.m. Central and the Cowboys at 6 p.m. Central.
