Banking outages affected many people across the state. Bank of Oklahoma said it's made progress bringing its systems as of 10 p.m. Thursday.
BOK Financial spokesperson Cydney Williams said, “Our digital banking platforms are back online after an outage at our service provider. Deposits, payments, and transactions may be delayed or incorrectly reflected but will continue to update as today's transactions are processed. We thank our clients for their patience as we work through remaining issues.”
Norman resident Jennifer Eads is one of the bank’s customers who couldn’t access her money on Thursday.
“It’s nerve-wracking – and frustrating, but we’ll make it,” Eads said. “We’ll be okay.”
Officials said the outage at a service provider has impacted 26 other banks.
“It’s just scary,” Eads said. “I have no idea what the bank is doing or what’s happening.”
BOK officials said they would reimburse all fees resulting from this outage. Eads welcomed a quick fix because she relies on her bank to live her life due to physical limitations.
“I don’t walk very well. I don’t go to the store anymore,” Eads said. “That’s a big deal. Just getting out of the house to go anywhere is a big deal. You want to know where your money is.”
BOK Financial officials said this was not a data breach, so no personal information was affected by this outage.
