Oklahoma-born and raised country star Carrie Underwood performed "America the Beautiful" at Donald Trump's inauguration. Several Oklahoma leaders have praised the eight-time Grammy-winning singer.

“I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the Inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event,” Underwood said in a statement Monday. “I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and looking to the future.”

Sen. James Lankford said,

"Checotah, Oklahoma’s own Carrie Underwood demonstrated grace under pressure today and her incredible talent. Thank you for honoring our beautiful nation."

Gov. Kevin Stitt said,

"Beautiful performance by @carrieunderwood. Oklahoma is proud!"

Sen. Markwayne Mullin said,

"Oklahoma born and raised! Americans are loving @carrieunderwood today."
