Students at Clara Reynolds Elementary School in Harrah are hard at work preparing for Valentine's Day.
For the kids in Mrs. Fitzwater's 3rd grade class, their goal is to receive a Valentine's Day card from each state in the US.
The Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages Porch traveled out to Harrah to learn more about the student's ambitious project.
"This is actually an idea that I saw on social media, so I won't take credit for the idea," Fitzwater said. "We've had a great response. I think we are up to 35 different states."
The class' progress does not stop there, however, going so far as to receive cards from other countries including Belgium and Scotland.
Fitzwater said apart from the fun way to organize her class, it also educates them about several topics.
"We talk about how to address an envelope, we've talked about cardinal directions, we talk about map skills," Fitzwater said. "We've talked about facts from different states because a lot of the people have sent us handmade cards that have information about their city or their state."
For anyone who wants to help Mrs. Fitzwater's class reach their goal, you can email a Valentine's Day card to the following address:
