With Black History Month approaching, the Oklahoma City Thunder is encouraging metro high school students to showcase what inspires them through artwork.

Students in grades 9 through 12 are invited to participate in a contest for a chance to win prizes. Winners will be selected for each grade level, with additional prizes also available.

Submitted artwork must be 2D and poster-sized. "We've seen everything from painting, oil pastel, pencil, crayons, and even digital art," said Erin Oldfield, Vice President of Community Engagement for the OKC Thunder.

Four winners will be recognized during a Thunder game, receive team merchandise, and take home an item signed by a Thunder player.

Oldfield noted that the contest draws hundreds of submissions each year. "It really is an amazing opportunity for these students," she said.

The deadline to submit artwork is Feb. 7. For more information CLICK HERE.
