Construction on the first two phases of MAPS-4 sidewalk projects is now underway across Oklahoma City. City leaders have announced that the funds will be used to build more than 35 new sidewalks, with additional projects planned through 2031.

Oklahoma City Mayor David Holt discussed the significance of the project, particularly for South Oklahoma City.

“A lot of investments in South OKC going on right now through MAPS-4, and we wanted to use this as an opportunity to highlight this,” Holt said.

The new sidewalks will include updated pedestrian crossings and ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The initiative aims to provide safer and more accessible routes to schools, parks, and medical centers.
