The National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum is set to launch an exhibition celebrating the evolution of cowboy boots, from their functional roots on cattle drives to their rise as fashion icons.

Seth Spillman, the museum’s Chief Marketing Officer, came on the Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages Porch to discuss what visitors can expect.

Opening February 8 and running through May 4, the exhibit will feature around 100 pairs of boots, including historical working boots and artistic designs, many pulled from the museum's permanent collection. Special highlights include custom boots made for wrestling legend André the Giant.

The exhibit also features events like a talk by Oklahoma boot maker Lisa Sorrell in March and 'Brown Bag Lunch and Learn' sessions for enthusiasts.

"No matter what your level of Western is, you're going to find something that you're going to like in this exhibition," Spillman said.
