**Editor's Note: Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office officials now say the person mentioned in the original version of this story is not a person of interest. News 9 has removed that person's name from the story since they are not being investigated in this crime.**
A man metro police hoped to visit with about the suspicious death of an Oklahoma County man was located nearly 9,000 miles away in Bangkok, Thailand.
According to investigators, the man booked a ticket out of Oklahoma City the same week a missing man was found dead in Warr Acres.
Court filings show on Jan. 17, both the person of interest and the decedent Mark Winn were reported missing by their loved ones.
The following day, Winn's vehicle was found abandoned in Oklahoma City near an apartment complex. His two cell phones were found “powered off” inside the vehicle.
“He doesn't have a history of disappearing or wandering off,” said Aaron Brilbeck with the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office.
Four days later, on Jan. 21, Warr Acres police responded to the person of interest’s neighborhood just west of MacArthur near Northwest 63rd Street in Warr Acres. Police were called after a resident discovered a body—later identified as Mark Winn—near a lake.
EMS told investigators it appeared Winn had "been there for a few days" and was deceased. Investigators said, "Based on the way he was laying,” Winn "appeared to have been dumped."
An investigator with the State Medical Examiner's Office said, "Mark may have overdosed."
Police were later alerted to the person of interest’s whereabouts by Homeland Security.
Listed as a missing person in NCIC, HSI investigators told police on Jan. 16, the person of interest flew from Oklahoma City, OK, to Denver, CO, and then boarded a plane to Los Angeles, CA.
Then, on Jan. 17, investigators said the person of interest flew from Los Angeles, CA, to Tokyo, Japan. Police said that on Jan. 18, they took a flight from Tokyo to Bangkok. A search of the person of interest’s home uncovered evidence that showed he only purchased a one-way flight to Bangkok, Thailand.
Investigators searched the person of interest's vehicle that was found at OKC Will Rogers International Airport, and his home.
Surveillance equipment and a small amount of marijuana were recovered.
Investigators are waiting on Winn’s autopsy report to determine how he died.
