Hugo Middle School teacher arrested for alleged abuse of special needs students

A Hugo Middle School teacher has been arrested and accused of abusing students with special needs, according to the Choctaw County Sheriff's Office.

Court records show Yolanda Dunbar is facing two counts of child abuse.

Authorities say Dunbar is one of five teachers caught on camera hitting, slapping, pinching, and kicking a 12-year-old and a 14-year-old student.

It remains unclear if charges have been filed against the other teachers involved.

The Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) has confirmed it is also investigating the incident.
