2 killed in NW OKC house fire

Firefighters responded to a house fire that left two people dead Friday morning in northwest Oklahoma City.

Two people are dead after a home caught fire Friday morning in northwest Oklahoma City, according to firefighters.

The Oklahoma City Fire Department said the home was located near Northwest 23rd Street and North Villa Avenue.

Firefighters on the scene said two people, an adult woman and a child, were killed as a result of the fire.

OKCFD said an adult man and another child were able to evacuate the structure, and two others escaped by dropping down from a second-story window onto a trash bin.

News 9 crews on the scene saw an additional person being taken to a hospital. Another person was also injured. Both are in critical condition.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
