This weekend’s new releases cover a range of themes, from high-stakes action to a deadly Valentine’s Day and a gripping family drama. News 9's Movie Man Dino Lalli lets you know what you can expect to see in theatres.
Academy Award winners Ke Huy Quan and Ariana DeBose star in the action-packed thriller Love Hurts. Quan plays a former criminal-turned-realtor who is forced back into the dangerous underworld he thought he’d left behind.
The story takes a turn when his supposedly dead partner resurfaces with a threatening message, setting off a chain of double-crosses and high-stakes encounters.
DeBose says she signed onto the project largely because of Quan.
Love Hurts is rated R.
A deadly Valentine’s Day is at the heart of the new R-rated romantic comedy-thriller Heart Eyes. The film follows two platonic co-workers who are mistakenly targeted by Seattle’s notorious "Heart Eyes Killer," a murderer known for hunting down couples on February 14.
When they catch the killer’s attention, the unlucky duo must spend the night on the run—desperately trying to convince him they’re not in love while fighting to stay alive.
The film stars Olivia Holt, Mason Gooding, and Gigi Zumbado.
Bring Them Down is a tense R-rated drama starring Barry Keoghan and Christopher Abbott.
The film follows Michael, a reclusive farmer who cares for his aging and difficult father, Ray, while tending to his prized flock. Haunted by a dark secret from his past, Michael becomes entangled in an escalating feud with neighboring farmer Gary and his volatile son, Jack. What begins as typical farming tensions spiral into a violent confrontation that will leave both families forever changed.
