With Valentine's Day just around the corner, Curbside Flowers is offering unique floral arrangements while providing jobs for those transitioning out of homelessness.
Curbside Flowers is more than just a flower shop—it’s a program designed to help individuals in Oklahoma City gain job skills and financial stability.
"Every single one of these arrangements that we make and sell is made by someone in our work program, building those job skills and getting income to ultimately end their homelessness in our community," said Ranya Forgotson, director of Curbside Flowers.
This year’s “Wild About You” collection features a variety of arrangements, from small, budget-friendly bouquets to elaborate displays with red roses and exotic flowers.
“We try to have a little bit of something for everyone, no matter what your budget is,” Forgotson said. “Everything has a little bit of that jungly, like ‘Wild About You’ vibe.”
For those looking for an alternative to flowers, the shop also offers low-maintenance plants, heart bandanas for pets, and Swedish dishcloths printed through the Curbside Apparel work program.
Each floral arrangement and gift comes with a tag featuring the name of the individual who created it.
"We have the name of the individual in our work program who made each item sign what they create," Forgotson said. "So every order comes with one of these name tags so you can see the individual that you're helping in our community."
Curbside Flowers is accepting pickups and deliveries Monday through Saturday leading up to Valentine’s Day. Orders can be placed online at curbsideflowers.com.
“If you need flowers this week, Monday through Saturday, we have pickups and deliveries available,” Forgotson said. “So when you forget on Friday, you've got at least Saturday to make it up.”
