As crews continue to salt and treat roads across Oklahoma, News 9 Stormtrackers are out across the Oklahoma City metro surveying the roads to bring accurate updates on travel conditions.

In Newcastle, Stormtracker Brandon Pennel noted roads were semi-clear, but drivers should still exercise caution while out on the road.

"We're on Highway 62 headed southbound... You can tell that both lanes are fairly clear," Pennel said. "There's not a whole lot of ice where the traffic is traveling right now, but still, we're maintaining a speed of about 40 to 45 mph, and that's about what everybody north and southbound are doing in this area."

Pennel said in the City of Newcastle, several areas are still covered in ice, which could be a problem as many Oklahomans begin to hit the road Wednesday morning.

"Parking lots are literally skating rinks, I mean, it's just absolutely treacherous when you get off of the main roads," Pennel said. "If you just take it slow, I think you can get to where you need to go, but just give yourself a lot of time."
