Lightning strike sparks house fire near Old Farm Road

Fire crews from Oak Cliff and Deer Creek responded to a house fire Tuesday on Old Farm Road.

The first units arrived to find heavy fire coming from the roof of the two-story home. Firefighters reported the fire was primarily contained to the attic and took only minutes to extinguish.

Officials said all occupants were able to get out safely, and no injuries were reported.

Crews used a ladder truck to access the roof and extinguish the flames. Only the attic and one bathroom sustained damage, according to fire officials.

Investigators determined a lightning strike sparked the fire.
