2 dead in Thursday morning Johnston County crash

Two people are dead following a crash in Johnston County Thursday morning, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Two people are dead following a crash in Johnston County Thursday morning, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

OHP says the crash happened around 6:47 a.m. on U.S. Highway 177 about 1.5 miles east of Mannsville, Oklahoma.

According to OHP, Robert N. Mackey, 64, was driving westbound on State Highway 199 when Keith E. Chawgo, 60, who was driving eastbound, veered across the center line and crashed into him.

Chawgo was pronounced dead at the scene, according to OHP.

OHP says Mackey was airlifted to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

OHP says the cause of the crash is under investigation.
