Fire warning issued for eastern Roger Mills and Dewey Co.

The National Weather Service in Norman has issued a Fire Warning at the request of Oklahoma Forestry Services for eastern Roger Mills and southwestern Dewey Counties due to a dangerous wildfire.

As of 11:25 AM, the wildfire was located near Angora, approximately 9 miles southwest of Leedey, and is moving rapidly northeast at 3 to 5 mph.

Residents in the affected areas are advised to be prepared for possible evacuations and to follow all safety instructions from local emergency management officials.

Officials also caution drivers to avoid driving into areas with smoke, as visibility could be severely impacted.
