First responders continue working to protect lives and property as the state experiences extreme fire conditions.

The Oklahoma City Fire Department reported that dispatchers handled more than 900 emergency calls on Thursday. By approximately 7 p.m., firefighters had responded to nearly 400 incidents, including 19 structure fires, 115 grass fires, and 34 downed power lines. Crews also responded to medical emergencies, motor vehicle accidents, and other calls for assistance.
