Wildfires forced evacuations across eight areas of Norman on Thursday, leaving a path of destruction as firefighters worked to contain the flames.
Several homes were destroyed, including one that continued to have several hotspots hours after the fire passed.
Hot spots and visible flames remained in the area late into the night. The Norman Fire Department estimates that seven homes and 20 outbuildings were lost in the fire.
Despite the widespread damage, no injuries have been reported. Fire officials said 95% of the three major fires in the region are now contained, but crews continue to monitor and respond to flare-ups.
Authorities continue to urge caution in the area.
Evacuations lifted for most parts of Norman
