Downed Powerline Sparks Grass Fire, Closes Anderson Road in Southeast OKC

A downed powerline ignited a grass fire Wednesday morning, closing Anderson Road southbound at Southeast 83rd St. in southeast Oklahoma City.

News 9 Storm Tracker Hank Brown reported from the scene, where the powerline arced before starting the fire.

Emergency crews responded quickly. None of the homes and buildings in the area were damaged by the flames.

Drivers should seek alternate routes while crews work to clear the scene.
