A dish so good it could lead to a marriage proposal? Candace Conley with TheGirlCanCook.com was in the kitchen this morning to show us how to make the viral dish "Marry Me Chicken."
Ingredients
- 1 rotisserie chicken – breasts only, shredded
- 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup chicken stock
- ½ cup freshly grated Parmigiano Reggiano
- 1 (7-ounce) jar sun-dried tomatoes, drained and roughly chopped
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- ¼ cup thinly sliced fresh basil leaves
- ¾ pound penne pasta, cooked to al dente, reserve ½ cup pasta water
- Kosher salt and ground black pepper
Instructions
- Step 1: Heat olive oil over medium heat in a large sauté pan. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
- Step 2: Stir in the heavy cream, chicken stock, ¼ cup of the parm, sun-dried tomatoes, and oregano.
- Step 3: Add the chicken to the skillet. Bring the sauce to a simmer, then reduce the heat to medium low.
- Step 4: Add the pasta to the sauce along with the reserved pasta water and toss to combine.
- Step 5: Serve topped with the basil and the remaining ¼ cup of Parm.
