In a news release issued by the airport on Wednesday, the first flights out of Oklahoma City to Cancún will begin on Nov. 8.
“To finally welcome a nonstop international flight to Oklahoma City for the first time in a generation is a historic moment for us,” Oklahoma City Mayor David Holt said in the news release. “This milestone is a testament to our city’s renaissance, as well as a reflection of our willingness to invest in ourselves."
The airport says service to Cancun will be every Saturday from Nov. 8, 2025, through April 4, 2026.
“We are excited American Airlines will be offering international flights to Cancun this winter,” Airports Director Jeff Mulder said. “American Airlines is a great partner, and we appreciate their support of OKC and our community."
Mulder said the airport is nearing completion of a customs facility for the new international service.
"This type of new international nonstop service elevates OKC to a new level and offers our travelers another quality-of-life improvement," Mulder said.
Tickets will go on sale Monday, March 31.
