One person is dead after a wreck Wednesday morning along eastbound Interstate 40 in Choctaw, according to police.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the outside and middle lanes of eastbound I-40 near South Triple X Road are closed after the wreck, however, traffic is able to pass by on the inside lane.
OHP says the crash happened just before 5:30 a.m. and involved a fuel truck as well as two other vehicles.
According to investigators, one of the vehicles involved in the wreck was driving at an unsafe speed before losing control and wrecking, leaving the vehicle disabled in the roadway.
OHP said the fuel truck then struck the vehicle behind, before the fuel truck was then itself struck by a third car. The driver of the final car was killed in the crash.
The driver of the first vehicle was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
A second person was taken to the hospital. Their condition is not yet known.
OHP says some fuel was spilled onto the roadway, but it is being cleaned up.
No names have been released at this time.
UPDATE: Both lanes of traffic have been reopened
