On today's Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages Porch, the crew speaks with Market Impact Executive Director Laurie Applekamp about the March for Babies event hosted by March of Dimes.

You can find more information on the event here.

Applekamp explains how the event is made to raise awareness on maternal and infant youth for parents and families alike. "Many babies are born premature, some don't survive, this is about education on the signs of pre-term labor and all those things around that," she said. "This is a time to celebrate, how do we make sure that moms and families are having a healthy baby?"

The event is made to educate parents about unknown pregnancy risks and help families struggling with their babies' wellbeing.

Meteorologist Justin Rudicel shares a personal story on how he's had two premature babies in the family, and reached out to March of Dimes to share their event and spread the word.

The event will be held at Scissortail Park on Saturday May 17, with registration starting at 10 a.m.

You can register for the event here.
