In less than a month, runners from across the nation will gather to complete the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon.

Ahead of the race, analyst and trainer Mark Bravo stopped by News 9 to offer some advice for runners finishing up their training.

Bravo says that at this point in training, less is more.

"Your legs are gonna be real happy if you did very much less," said Bravo. "If you skip some days, which you should, maybe get out two or three times, in the marathon for two to four miles."

During this time, Bravo says it is easy for runners to be hard on themselves. He says it's important to stay mentally strong.

"Always air to the positive ... if you are fresh, your legs will thank you." "Don't dwell on what might not happen right."

Lastly, Bravo says to take this experience in and embrace it

"Relish everything you're gonna experience, remember why you're doing this."
