Recess was moved indoors for elementary school students in the Crooked Oak district on Monday.

The district says some students experienced allergic reactions while outside on Monday.

According to the superintendent, an odorless white powder blew onto the playground, and four students had direct exposure to it and had reactions. A school nurse also experienced some secondhand reactions when the students came to visit her.

Parents were notified by the school, and the rest of recess was immediately inside.

The school has contacted the fire department for their next steps.

Maintenance crews hosed down all the playground equipment with water.

None of the reactions were strong enough to warrant medical intervention.

A recent report from the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America listed Oklahoma City as the third-worst place to live for seasonal allergies.
