In a Bedlam midweek matchup in Stillwater, No. 18 Oklahoma run-ruled Oklahoma State by a final of 11-1 in eight innings.

Sophomore Jason Walk launched OU's first grand slam of the season at the top of the eighth to put the game into mercy-rule territory. It was Oklahoma's first run-rule of Oklahoma State since 2006.



The Oklahoma (26-10) pitching staff of Jaden BarfieldReid HensleyJames Hitt and Dylan Crooks combined to allow OSU (16-18) just one run on four hits. It was the Cowboys (16-18) lowest scoring output vs. the Sooners since 2023.

OU jumped out to a 5-0 lead at the top of the first on five hits and two Cowboy errors. The Sooners started the game with four straight base hits courtesy of Trey GambillJaxon WillitsEaston Carmichael and Sam Christiansen, resulting in three runs before an out was recorded. The Sooners continued to pile on with a fielder's choice RBI off the bat of Dayton Tockey, followed by an RBI single from Kyle Branch.

Making his first collegiate start on the mound, freshman left-handed pitcher Jaden Barfield worked two scoreless innings with a pair of strikeouts, stranding a pair in the second.

The Sooners tacked on another run at the top of the fourth. After Willits reached on OSU's third error of the game, Christiansen doubled him home to push the lead to 6-0.

The Pokes solo run of the game came via a leadoff home run from Colin Brueggemann in the bottom of the fourth. Right-handed reliever Hensley responded with a pair of strikeouts in the frame and left one runner on base.

Hitt entered in the fifth and put the Cowboys down in order before working around a two-out walk in the sixth to strand the baserunner. Hitt capped his outing with a scoreless seventh.

The Sooners pushed the game to a double-digit victory at the top of the eighth, scoring five runs on four hits. Following a leadoff walk to Gambill, Willits singled him home through the right side. After a Carmichael base hit and Christiansen hit by pitch, Walk sent one deep to left for his sixth homer of the season and first career grand slam to make it 11-1, Oklahoma.

The closer, Crooks, entered in the bottom of the eighth and struck out the side to secure the win.

At the plate, OU put up 11 runs on 11 hits and drew seven walks and stole seven bags on the night. Five Sooners brought in a run and three registered multi-hit games. Walk paced OU with four RBIs on his grand slam, followed closely by Christiansen's three runs batted in.

All four Sooner pitchers registered at least one strikeout, with Hitt (W, 1-0) earning his first win of the season in 16 appearances. The senior southpaw went three scoreless, hitless innings with one walk and one strikeout. Hensley fanned three in two innings of one-run ball on three hits, while Barfield struck out a pair and walked one in his two innings of scoreless, hitless work.

Oklahoma returns to SEC play this weekend at Missouri (13-23, 0-15 SEC). The Thursday through Saturday series begins with a 7 p.m. CT first pitch Thursday in Columbia. All three games can be seen via SECN+ and heard in Oklahoma on 99.3 FM/1400 AM The REF or nationwide on The Varsity Network app.
