McGirt now faces charges of failing to register as a sex offender.

In 2023, McGirt was released from federal prison after taking a plea deal for child sex crimes and was required to register as a sex offender.

Prosecutors say McGirt broke his probation because he was staying at a home with a child and had a phone with internet access and a social media account.
