A seedling from the Survivor Tree in Oklahoma City has been planted at the Oklahoma Office of Homeland Security, the agency says.

Members of the Oklahoma Office of Homeland Security, a division of the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety, planted the seedling on Saturday morning in front of their office, located in northeast Oklahoma City.

The seedling was gifted to the department by the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum.

Troopers at the ceremony said that the mission of the Homeland Security Office was born out of the tragedy of April 19, 1995, to ensure that nothing like it ever happens again.
