Sen. Darrell Weaver (R-Moore) is running to be Oklahoma’s next lieutenant governor. Online records show he is running as a Republican in the 2026 election.

Weaver was first elected to the Oklahoma Senate to represent Senate District 24 in 2018. He was re-elected in 2022 without opposition. Before his time in the statehouse, Weaver served with the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics for 28 years, spending nine of those years as the agency’s director.

“Combining my law enforcement and legislative service with my business experience will allow me to be an effective leader in working to solve our state's most pressing problems in an open and transparent manner,” said Weaver, in an X post.

Weaver faces two other Republicans for the seat, State Auditor and Inspector Cindy Byrd and Chris White of Broken Bow.

Current Lt. Gov. Matt Pinnell is set to term out in 2027.
