Man found dead outside NE OKC motel

Police are searching for a suspect after a man is killed Monday night outside a northeast Oklahoma City motel.

Oklahoma City Police say the victim was found at a motel near Northeast 23rd Street and North Martin Luther King Avenue.

OCPD says the department was alerted to the incident by a 911 caller. Police are now looking for a suspect as of Tuesday morning.

Investigators say the area is a hotspot for crime.

In 2024, 36-year-old mother of three Cherri Brooks was shot and killed by 3 men inside her motel room at the Relax Inn. 

In 2021, a teenager was shot outside the motel and taken to OU Health in critical condition, and, in 2019, a man staying at the inn was killed in a drive-by shooting.
