The Oklahoma City Thunder took Game 2 of Round 1, beating the Memphis Grizzlies 118-99 on Tuesday night.
A few 3-pointers were made early in the game, helping set the tone for Oklahoma City.
Oklahoma City came out strong, stealing the ball from Memphis and holding them to just 17 points in the first quarter, three fewer than Memphis managed in Sunday’s Game 1. By the end of the first, the Thunder led 32-17.
The second quarter opened with continued momentum from OKC, including a dunk by Jalen Williams to extend the lead.
Wiggins came off the bench and scored 8 points in the second quarter. SGA, Chet, and Dub each finished with 12 points. The Thunder only committed 3 turnovers in the first half.
The momentum continued as OKC entered the third quarter.
By the end of the third, the Thunder led 90-79, despite shooting just 8-of-24 from the field in the quarter.
Edey had no chance against Mr. Wallace — Thunder pushed the lead to 97-79 with 10:29 left in the game.
Oklahoma City held on in the fourth and closed out the game with a 118-99 win, taking a 2-0 lead in the series as it heads to Memphis for Game 3 on Thursday.
