Watch our Preview

All-Time vs. Texas

The Red River rivalry continues with Oklahoma leading the all-time series 61-27. OU is 23-7 in Norman and will host Texas at Love’s Field for the first time. Their last meeting came in the 2023 Women’s College World Series Championship, where a clutch bases-clearing double from Cydney Sanders helped clinch the title.

Scouting the Longhorns

Texas enters the weekend 42-6 overall and 13-5 in SEC play, most recently defeating Oklahoma State 1-0. The Longhorns were the preseason No. 1 and are fresh off a series win over LSU. They’ve dropped just one SEC series — against Tennessee.

By the Numbers

  1. Ranked Games: OU is 14-4 vs. ranked teams (11-4 vs. ranked SEC foes).
  2. Freshman Power: Garcia (12 HR) and McEnroe-Marinas (13 HR) lead a class that has hit 38 total homers.
  3. Discipline at the Plate: OU has drawn 219 walks — fourth nationally — with 99 of 346 runs scored via walk or HBP.
  4. Veteran Presence: Sanders has 217 career games played, 54 homers, and is one walk away from 100 as a Sooner.

Sooners Trending Up

  1. Comeback Crew: OU erased back-to-back 4-0 deficits to sweep a doubleheader vs. Mississippi State last weekend. The Sooners now have 15 comeback wins this season, tied for third in the country.
  2. Power Surge: Oklahoma ranks second in the SEC with 84 home runs, just one behind Florida despite playing six fewer games. Newcomers have contributed 51 homers, with 12 different players going yard.
  3. Lights-Out Middle Infield: Freshmen Gabbie Garcia (SS) and Ailana Agbayani (2B) have a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage in SEC play, converting all 111 chances. They're the only Power 4 duo with flawless fielding in conference action.
  4. Clutch Gene: Sophomore Maya Bland delivered game-winning homers against both Oklahoma State and Alabama earlier this month.

Offensive Standouts

  1. Kasidi Pickering: Team leader in average (.431), hits (50), slugging (.579), and walks (41).
  2. Ella Parker: Approaching 100 in career starts (99), runs (99), and RBIs (98). Career batting average: .403.
  3. Nelly McEnroe-Marinas: 13 homers, including 10 in SEC play. Leads the conference in HR and RBIs during league games.

In the Circle

  1. Sam Landry: 3× SEC Pitcher of the Week, 15-3 with four saves.
  2. Isabella Smith: DI’s active career leader in wins (79), among top 10 in NCAA in innings pitched, appearances, and strikeouts.

Together, they form one of the nation’s most experienced and successful pitching tandems.

This weekend marks the final home stand for a decorated senior class and a potential SEC regular-season title preview. Expect fireworks in Norman.
