The OKC Memorial Marathon will be going on all weekend, but runners have been training all year (if not more) for the titular marathon happening on Sunday morning.
The News 9 crew is joined by News Directors Shea Fredericks and Jayden Hannah who are signed up to run on Sunday rain or shine, and were asked a few questions about the prep now that the marathon is only a few days away.
"Hey, you know the only thing that's doing a marathon are my nerves right?" Fredericks said. "We did as much prep as we can, and whenever you watch the pros do it, they say that they're all hard."
Over 25,000 runners will be participating over the weekend in all the Run to Remember events. These include kid and senior runs, a 5K, a half marathon, and the full marathon on Sunday.

Fredericks goes back and remembers how Hannah indirectly convinced him to start training for the event as well, since Hannah has been running in the event for three years now.
"I've been in the full, it was my first race, and I did the half last year," Hannah said. "And now we're doing the full again this year."
Training for a marathon isn't like inventing the wheel, millions of people have ran in marathon races all around the world. So Jayden started his regimen with tips on timing and consistency.
"Everyone who runs a marathon knows you have to start in the winter," Hannah said. "You know you have to learn through all of your training runs how to deal with different types of weather, how that affects your energy, things like that."
The OKC Memorial Marathon over the weekend is a rain or shine event, so participants will head to the finish line through thick and thin.
"I started out with as much food as I can have, so like chili dogs, hot dogs, hamburgers, fries. They say carbs so.." Fredericks said. "I began training in January, and my thing was just like, completion."
He mentioned it's important to find a pace, sit in it for a while, and hope your body doesn't crap out on you.
"It'll be Shea's first full and I have another friend who is running his first full as well," Hannah said. "I tell them, 'It's going to be a lot of energy, it's important to stick to your pace'. But it'll be hype for sure."
