U.S. Rep. Stephanie Bice (R-Oklahoma) once again joined runners at the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon Sunday morning, continuing her tradition of handing out medals at the finish line.
"It's such a fun experience to be able to be at the finish line and congratulate the winners that are coming across," Bice said. "This is the 30th anniversary, so it's a little more special."

Bice also reflected on the powerful moments she witnesses each year.
"It's really fun for me when you see individuals that have never run a half or a full marathon cross the finish line," Bice said. "It is that elation, it's the joy. They hear family around them, and then they get to don these medals."

The energy from the crowd at the finish line was palpable.
"The crowd today is electrifying. I mean, it is just next level to me," Bice said.
Rep. Bice believes that the weather played a large role in keeping spirits high.
"It's a little overcast and a little cool, which is perfect for runners," Bice said.
Rep. Bice noted that it was a particularly busy race due to Saturday's 5K being rescheduled for Sunday. Nevertheless, Bice says that seeing lots of people cross the finish line was really fun.

"I mean, it's an emotional time. This is a memory for many Oklahomans, but I think the important thing you will hear the museum talk about is we have to share it with the next generation," Bice said. "You know, I'm the mother of two daughters, 24 and 20. They don't remember, they don't know. So it's really incumbent upon those of us who lived in Oklahoma City and lived through that moment to share that experience with them so we never forget."
Rep. Bice plans to remain at the finish line throughout the day, congratulating runners at Oklahoma's preeminent marathon.
