Planet Fitness is bringing back its High School Summer Pass program, giving teens ages 14 to 19 free access to more than 2,700 gym locations across the U.S. and Canada from June 1 to August 31.
The initiative, now in its fifth year, is designed to help teens stay active and improve mental wellness during summer months when school programs are on pause.
According to the latest State of Childhood Obesity report, 20.4% of teens in Oklahoma are obese or overweight. Physical activity tends to decrease during summer, with 50% of teens reporting a fitness slump when school is out.
A national survey conducted by Planet Fitness also found that 66% of parents are concerned about their teens’ well-being, and 72% believe regular exercise improves mental health.

Planet Fitness says the program provides teens with a place to stay active in a non-intimidating environment, offering tools to build lifelong fitness habits.
Teens can sign up online at PlanetFitness.com/SummerPass. Those under 18 must register with a parent or guardian either online or in person. Once signed up, teens must use the same Planet Fitness location for the entire summer.

Planet Fitness reports the program has reached more than 10 million teens since 2019, with the company estimating over $300 million in waived membership dues.
