The former CEO of a major entertainment group faces federal charges.

Federal prosecutors say Timothy Leiweke, with Oak View Group, conspired to rig a bid for an arena project in Texas.

They say Leiweke made a deal with a competitor in 2018, promising to give them sub-contracts if they didn’t submit a competing bid. That meant Oak View Group was the only qualified bidder for the arena.

Leiweke stepped down from his role as CEO on Wednesday.

Oak View Group operates about 400 venues, including Tulsa’s BOK Center. The company also recently partnered with the University of Tulsa to bring concerts to Chapman Stadium.

The FBI and the Department of Labor are investigating.

Oak View Group issued the following statement:

"Oak View Group cooperated fully with the Antitrust Division's inquiry and is pleased to have resolved this matter with no charges filed against OVG and no admission of fault or wrongdoing. We support all efforts to ensure a fair and competitive environment in our industry and are committed to upholding industry-leading compliance and disclosure practices. We are proud of the partnerships we've built, and remain committed to continuing to offer exceptional hospitality and holistic venue management solutions and venue development expertise which deliver value to our venue partners, fellow service providers, and the communities and customers we serve."
