Lauvergne has played his only two seasons in the NBA with the Nuggets, and last year averaged 7.9 points and 4.9 rebounds while playing 17.6 minutes per game.

This was a low-risk move for the Thunder, seeing the 6-foot-11 big man from France has tremendous upside. Lauvergne averaged 16 points and 10 rebounds per 36 minutes last season, according to basketball reference. 

The Thunder already had 15 guaranteed contracts on the roster before the trade, so it's likely another roster move is coming before the start of the season.
