Steve McGehee

Steve McGehee is an Anchor and Reporter for News 9. A native of Wichita, Kansas, he graduated high school from Wichita Southeast and earned a Bachelor of Science degree with an emphasis in Radio/TV at Kansas State University. Interesting fact: Steve's grandmother played on K-State's women's basketball team in the early 1900s.

Steve is no stranger to travels in the television business. He has worked in Wichita, Monroe, Louisiana, Wilmington, North Carolina, Huntington, West Virginia, and is now proud to call Oklahoma home.

Steve’s wife is from Yukon and a University of Oklahoma graduate, making the chance to move home a perfect idea. Steve has two kids, stepson Gunter and daughter Annabelle.

Steve has won a handful of awards at his past stations, including AP Best Sportscast in North Carolina (B Division), AP Best Sports Operation on two different occasions in Ohio, and AP Best Sportscast in West Virginia.

Steve is in his 10th season covering the Oklahoma City Thunder for Griffin Media, bringing fans in-depth coverage of the team.

Steve is also an avid sports fan with a baseball card collection that dominates his guest bedroom. He currently has one cat and one dog but is hopeful to add another pup soon. Steve carries a strong love for animals and enjoys spending time with his family.
