CLEVELAND COUNTY, Oklahoma -- Classes resumed Thursday, Aug. 11, in two Cleveland County districts -- Little Axe and Lexington. And for several hours Cleveland County deputies were patrolling, pulling over speed zone speeders.
Cleveland County Sheriff Joe Lester has been doing this ever since he took office.
"This is basically reminding the public that school is back in session," sheriff's office spokesman Meghan McCormick said
In Lexington, deputies pulled over at least a dozen drivers for speeding.
Some received tickets; others received warnings
The patrols will continue for a couple of weeks.
