Crews Battle Large Fire At Norman Tire Store

Crews successfully extinguished a large fire at the Hibdon tire store in Norman, Sunday afternoon.

Large black plumes of smoke could be seen billowing from miles away. The fire broke out at the Hibdon store located at 221 N. Interstate Dr. at around 5:45 p.m.

It is unclear at this time how the fire started. No one was injured and authorities say the damage did not result in a total loss.

This is a two story building and fire officials say most of the damage is to the second story.

OG&E was also on scene to help with any electrical issues. A hotel in the area had to be evacuated while crews battled the blaze.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
