'Hazelnut' Is Gathering Place's Newest Mascot

The votes are in, and Hazelnut is the winning name for the newest Gathering Place mascot. Hazelnut will join Blue the Heron and Tulsey the Turtle to represent Tulsa's world-class park at special events.

Kids got to vote to name the squirrel, and the winning name was announced Tuesday on 6 in the Morning. Ambassador Ariana Reagor and Marketing Director Katie Bullock made the special announcement along with anchor LeAnne Taylor.

Gathering Place Holding Contest To Name New Character At The Park

Gathering Place, which opened to visitors this fall, has transformed into a Winter Wonderland for the holiday season. Be sure to visit through December 30 to experience the wonder of lights, performances and more.
