Tulsa-based WPX Energy is reportedly under contract to purchase a building in the downtown area for a possible expansion.

Sources say the building in question is the former Spaghetti Warehouse restaurant in the 200 block of East Matthew B. Brady Street in the Tulsa Arts District.

WPX Energy specializes in the production of natural gas and oil.

The Spaghetti Warehouse restaurant closed in March 2017.

The company released a statement saying, "WPX is a locally-based energy company that employs more than 400 people in Tulsa. Our office space is located in the Williams Tower where we have a lease that expires in 2022. Prior to that time, we’re evaluating a number of options for our longer-term company headquarters. We are in the preliminary stages of this process. No decisions have been made."
