Fires are still burning in Pawnee County as firefighters worked overnight to get the flames under control.
Firefighters put in some long hours and monitored the scene overnight. Assistant Jennings Fire Chief Keith Buntin said the fire is still burning near 21st Street in heavy timber, and crews are still out keeping tabs on the fire.
He says they'll have to keep monitoring Tuesday's conditions and what they will need to do to keep things under control.
It was a scary afternoon for many people around the 5800 Road area.

The City of Jennings asked some people to evacuate their homes and opened its senior center for those who needed a place to stay.
Monday night, the fire department said it was safe for people to return home but they've asked neighbors to keep an eye out as more than 20 fire departments continued to fight the fires.
No buildings have been burned and no one is hurt.
"No injuries, no structures lost or damaged - just a lot of tired volunteers and damaged equipment," Assistant Chief Buntin said Tuesday morning.
Buntin did say some of their fire equipment was damaged as they dealt with the fire and terrain problems. He also said it's been an expensive battle, having to spend about $600 on fuel Monday night.
