People in Owasso will soon have a new way to help those in need.

First Baptist Church of Owasso broke ground today on a new addition to its campus; "The Mission" building.

The $2 million facility will include counseling offices, a commercial grade kitchen, and a shopping area.

Church leaders say the building will be used to partner people who have things with people who need things.

And they hope to be ready to help when disaster strikes.

First Baptist Church of Owasso Senior Pastor Chris Wall said, "Especially in light of the hurricane, those that have already prepared to help are making the biggest impact so we want to have a place that helps before disasters come.”

Construction is expected to wrap up by July 2018.
